Annie (Mills) Lewis was born in New Forest, Hampshire, England.

The 1871 England and Wales Census shows Ann living with her mother, grandparents and uncle in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, England.^[2] She was two years old.

The 1881 England and Wales Census shows Ann living with her uncle, aunt and family in Clay Hill, Lyndhurst, Hampshire, England.^[3] She was 12 years old and was working as a Nurse Domestic Scholar.

In 1886 Ann married William Thomas Lewis in New Forest, Hampshire, England.^[4]
