William Prentice Milne was born in 1866 in Bet Bet, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary Milne and Henry Milne.^[1][2]

He married Evelyn Hogg on 13 September at the Bank of Australasia in Shepparton.^[3] Their children were:^[4]
