Biography
Millard Franklin Mixson was born on 03 December 1875 in Alabama, United States.[1] His parents were William Cicero Mixson (1834 - 1917) and Martha Elizabeth (Law) Mixson (1846-1902).[2]
When the 1880 United States Census was taken, Millard was 4 years old. He was living in the household of his parents in Centerville, Coffee County, Alabama.[3]
A 1900 United States Census record has not been located.
According to data in the 1910 and 1930 United States Censuses, Millard was married to Hardie Earle Phifer in about 1905 or 1906. They were the parents of at least 3 children.
Millard and his wife were enumerated together on the 1910 United States Census. They and their two daughters were living in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. Millard was employed as a civil engineer.[4]
On 12 September 1918. Millard Franklin Mixson submitted his World War I Draft Registration Card to the local board in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He was 42 years old and described as being tall and slender with dark hair and blue eyes. He was an inspector for the United States Government. He named his wife, Hardy Earle Mixson, as his next of kin.[1]
The Mixson family were living at 3222 6th Street in Tuscaloosa when the 1920 United States Census was taken. Millard and Earle had three children at that time. Millard was working as a machinist.[5]
They were all at the same address when the 1930 United States Census was taken. Millard was working as a government civil engineer.[6]
Millard Franklin Mixson passed away on 20 May 1937 in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. He was 61 years old.[2] He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama.[7]
