Louisa was born to Hugh and Anne (nee Taylor) Moises in Tynemouth, Northumberland, England.
She married Rev. Thomas Waite on 9 October 1823 in Bishopwearmouth, Durham, England. He was the curate of Seaham in Durham and it was his second marriage after his first wife died in 1822. Louisa and Thomas had 11 children.
