In the Fall of 1881 Mabel's parents left Windom, MN and moved to Grafton, ND where Mabel Monson was born in 1882. In March 1882 John Monson was killed in a hunting accident. Toline returned to her fathers farm to live and later bought her own farm, later selling it to move to Revere, Mn. in 1885. (undocumented)
In the 1895 Wisconsin Census, Tolina is listed alone, along with son Albert, and daughters Hanna and Mabel, living in Highwater, Cottonwood County, MN.

In the 1900 Census, Tolena is listed as a widow. The census also lists her as having immigrated in 1856. She owns a mortgaged house where the are living at Revere Village, Redwood County, MN. Living with her are son Albert (27), and daughters Hannah (22), and Mabel (18, 7 Jan 1882), as well as one boarder.[2]
In the 1920 US Census, Tolina was living in Stutsman ND with daughter Mabel and her husband, John J Dittbenner.[3]
