Sarah was born in 1820 in Pennsylvania. She passed away in 1902. She was one of 10 children. She first married John Nichols in 1839, and they had 7 children: James Oliver, Catherine, WIlliam, John, Samuel Monticue and Margaret.
John died in the Civil War. Afterwards Sarah worked as a housekeeper for John Snively, and they married sometime between 1870 and 1880, when they appear as a married couple in the census of 1880.
According to a family bible she passed away in 1902.
