Biography

Alfred föddes den 10 december 1883 som son till arbetaren Nils Andersson Moreau och hans hustru Kjersti Carlsdotter. Han döptes den 6 januari. Faddrar: En av hans halvsystrar, pigan Anna Åkerman, Anderslöv 16. Soldaten Lars Frick, Stora Markie. [1]

Alfred gifte sig med Olga Augusta Persson den 16 december 1911.[2]

Han dog "i influensaepidemin", det vil säga i spanska sjukan, den 18 september 1918. Han begravdes den 25 september. [3]

Nilsson-2325 and Moreau-1109 appear to represent the same person because: same person, not sure where Moreau name came from since there is no sourcing. Normally name should be Nilsson as Birth Name and possible Moreau as later name, since father is Nils

Thanks for drawing my attention to Nilsson-2325 - there turned out to be a match between him and Moreau-1109 (although it took some rather time-consuming research to ascertain the assumption!) It is quite clear from Alfred’s birth record that his father’s last name was Moreau at a time when patronymicons had fallen out of style, especially in urban areas like Malmö. The fact that Alfred chose the more traditional “Nilsson” as an adult does not change that.

Thanks for researching it. Can you add some of that to the biography and possibly Research Notes about the name? The biography doesn't state that birth record has Moreau name being used And he later used

Nilsson and I think that would help. With birth names on the profile, hopefully, another duplicate won't be created.
