Biography

John was born in 1827. He was baptised 23 December to Joseph and Emily Morris.[1]

1841 Census: Living in Preston Gubbals at Old Woods. Father Joseph's occupation is Farmer. Mother Emily is at home, also sisters Emily 11yr, Caroline 9yr, brothers William 7yr, Henry 5yr, George 3yrs.[2]

1851 England Census: Mother Emily is 57yrs old. Father's occupation now a Labourer. John also a Labourer 23yrs of age. He is at home with his three brothers, William 17yrs Henry 14yrs and George 12yrs[3]

1861 England Census: John Morris 33y b. 1828 Preston, Shropshire. Occupation: Forgeman. Relation to Head: Head. Address: Hadley, Wellington, Shropshire. Other Household Members: Lucy Morris 30y (Wife); Caroline Morris 6y b. Dawley (Daughter); Mary Morris 5y b. Dawley (Daughter); Emily Morris 3y b. Wellington (Daughter); Frederick Morris 2y b. Wellington (Son).[4]

1871 England Census: John Morris 43y b. 1828 Shropshire. Occupation: Baker. Relation to Head: Head. Address: 195 Dun St, Attercliffe cum Darnall, Yorkshire. Other Household Members: Lucy Morris 40y (Wife); Mary Morris 15y (Daughter - Domestic Servant); Emily Morris 13y (Daughter - Servant); Harry Morris 9y b. Wellington (Son); Lucy Morris 8y b. Wellington (Daughter); Caroline Morris 6y b. Sheffield (Daughter); John H Morris 3y b. Sheffield (Son); Florence Morris 1y b. Sheffield (Daughter); Sarah Morris 5Mths b. Sheffield (Daughter).[5]

He passed away in 1873 at the age of 45.[6]
