Joseph was born in Sturbridge, Massachusetts on March 7, 1745. He was the son of Joseph Morse and Experience (Morse) Morse.[1] He married Mary Martin in Sturbridge, September 14, 1768. She died May 10, 1829; he died March 10, 1846.[2] They had quite a large family:
x. Newell, born October 18, 1789, married, went to Gorham, N. Y., had two children and died there in 1819.[12]
xi. Freeman, born 13 Jan 1792. He died at the age of nineteen years.[13]
