Biography

William Edmund Morton, [1] son of Henry Mitten Morton and Caroline Bampton, [2] was born in about May 1848 in Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England. [1][2]

7 April 1861, Printers Reading Boy. [3]

Residence
On 30 March 1851 in Cross Street, Islington, Middlesex, England, with his parents Henry Morton and Caroline Morton, his brothers Henry Bruce Morton aged 5 and Alfred J. Morton aged 1 and a servant Hannah Perrington aged 16. [2]

On 7 April 1861 in Swinton Street, St Pancras, Middlesex, England, with his parents Henry M. Morton and Caroline Morton and his siblings Henry B. Morton aged 15, Alfred J. Morton aged 11, Richard B. Morton aged 9, Arthur Morton aged 7, Caroline J. Morton aged 6, Samuel C. Morton aged 3 and Edward Morton aged 0. [3]

He immigrated to New Zealand with his family aboard the Tyburnia in 1863.[4]

In 1879 he married Elizabeth Bishop.[5][6]

He passed away in 1935.[7][8]
