Eleanor Murchland was born about 1780 in Prince Edward Island. She was the daughter of John Murchland and Elizabeth Unknown. She married Daniel Silliker about 1800. They had 9 children.
In 1833, tragedy struck Eleanor's family. First, her husband died at sea in August 1833. In November 1833, her son Jacob died during a shipwreck. Five years later, in 1838, Eleanor took her own life, by hanging.
