Maggie (Murphy) Burton is a part of US Black heritage.

Maggie was born about 1881 in Missouri, USA.

She was only 17 years old on October 15, 1898 when Gus Burton obtained a marriage license in Poplar Bluff, Butler county, Missouri to marry her so her father Joseph Murphy signed his name when giving his consent.[1]

On July 27, 1915 in Poplar Bluff, Butler, Missouri, Albert Stinson obtained a license to marry Maggie Burton (nee Murphy).[4]

Maggie died at age 68-69 on March 13, 1951 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA and was buried in Highland Park Cemetery in Highland Hills, Cuyahoga county.[5]

Obituary

"Mrs. Maggie Stinson (nee Murphy) born Nov 1881 in Missouri, died Tuesday, March 13, 1951, age 69 at St. Alexis Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio a resident of 8210 Dawn Avenue S. E. Cleveland. Her 1st husband was Gus Burton born 1875 in Georgia.
She married in Butler, MO at age 31 in 27 Jul 1915, her 2nd husband. Albert Stinson age 44. He was born 1871 in Mississippi.
Mrs Stimson had long been active in affairs of Elizabeth Baptist Church, 8005 Holton Avenue S. E., Cleveland; prominent in the missionary work of her church and superintendent of the Sunday school for 20 years.
Maggie's funeral was Tuesday at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 8005 Holton Avenue S. E., Cleveland followed by burial Highland Park Cemetery. Arrangements by the House of Wills, 2491 E. 55th Street, Cleveland, OH." [6]
