Alexander was living Springfield, Kilbucho in 1851 with wife Isabel. He was 27 years old and a farm labourer. He was born in Lamington, Lanarkshire. His wife Isabel was 27 and also born in Lamington. Living with the couple are their two sons Alexander 5, born in Lamington and Peter 3 born in Walston.[2]

Alexander passed away in 1888 in Fauldhouse, Linlithgowshire. [3]
