Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

As you add profiles to WikiTree, you can use the green tabs near the top of each profile to see what info will be visible to others - just toggle between private and public views.
For help, ask a question in our G2G forum: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g. Most WikiTree members are eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. If you need one-on-one support, contact a volunteer Mentor for assistance.
Question of the Week: Brickwalls...argg...Have you got one, and what do you need to knock it down?

Welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has useful links that will get you started.
WikiTree is different because we have One Big Tree. Our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a single collaborative team. Our Honor Code is the key.
When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.
If you decide to volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership. After signing the Honor Code, you'll be able to add new profiles to the tree.

P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
