Biography

CAUTION: EVERYTHING HERE IS FROM DERIVATIVE SOURCES OR NOT CLEARLY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROFILE BUT IT ALL SEEMS REASONABLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ORIGINAL SOURCES IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Elisabeth Lowisa Muellerin (Maiden name could be Farnison or Lowisa but seems less likely) was born about 1694 in Fahrni, Bern, Switzerland (or possibly Bavaria, Germany).

Elisabeth married Johann Adam Forney[1][2] on 17 January 1713[1][2] in Wachenheim, Bayern, Germany[1].

Alternate Surname and precise marriage date: FamilySearch.org has a hint suggesting that "Johann Adam Farni" married a "Louisa Muellerin" on 25 January 1713 in Evangelisch-Reformierte, Bad Duerkheim, Pfalz, Bavaria. there is nothing else attached to either spouse in the relationship as well as no children as of 15 December 2017.

Claims exist stating in 1734 they were in Conestoga Settlement aka "Digges' Choice" which is 'now' Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania, United States.

Johann and Elisabetha had 7 children, including: Marx/Max/Marcus Oberle Forney[2], Johann Nicholas Forney[2], Unnamed Infant Forney (Possibly Mary Magdalena Forney but no source)[2], and Louisa Harbater Charlotte (Forney) Sell[2], Maria Eva Forney[2], Frederick Philip Forney[2], and Clara/Clora Forney (possibly twins Clara and Clora)[2]. As many as 10 have been claimed in various genealogical 'sources'.

From the Book: "The Descendants of Johann Adam Forney 1557 - 1963 by Howard G. Forney" identified as from the family bible of Johann Adam Forney:

"In the year 1721 on the 16th October, I, Johann Adam Forney and wife Louisa with four children arrived at Philadelphia in Penn., having lived at Wachenheim-on-the-Hart (Mountain) in the Palatinate. Johann Adam Forney to him belongs this Bible, and love it, and bought it for four gulden at Wachenheim-onthe-Hart (Mountain) on the 10th of May. In the year 1713, I married my dear wife Elizabeth Louisa. On the 6th of October 1713 my first child, a son, was born at 10 o'clock at night, in the sign of the Crab, and his sponsor was the Honorable Marx Oberle. On the first of July 1715 my second child, a son, was born in the night, at four o'clock in the sign of the Virgin, and his sponsor was the Honorable Nicholas Forney of Durkheim-on-the-Hart (Mountain). January 1717, my third child, a daughter, was born dead. Apriil 24th 1718 my 4th child, a daughter, was born, and her Godmother was my step sister Maria Bertha. On the 29th of September 1724 my sixth child was born in Pennsylvania - his name Frederick (Philip) Forney. On the 16th of February 1728 my seventh cild was born in Pennsylvania - her name is Clara."

From FindAGrave Memorial:

"Elisabetha Lowisa (Louisa) Forney was born about 1694 in Fahrni, Switzerland (some say Germany). Her last name or maiden name is unknown but some report it to be Farnison. She married Johann Adam Forney (1790 Swi.-1752 Pa.) in 1713 in Fahrni, Switzerland (some say Munich, Germany). Adam & Lowisa arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Oct. 16,1721 and settled in the Hanover area of York Co., Pa. They were the parents of 9 children (4 born in Wachenheim, Germany & 5 born in York Co., Pa.). Their children were: 1.Marx(1713-1800), 2.Jacob(1714-?), 3.Nicholaus(1715-1774), 4.Mary Madgalena (1717), 5.Lowisa Charlotte(1718-?), 6.Maria Eva(1721-?), 7.Frederick Philip(1724-1783), 8.Clara(twin)(1728-?) & 9.Clora(twin)(1728-?). Only six children lived to Adulthood. Adam & Lowisa Forney are buried in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, York Co., Pa. Elisabetha Forney died sometime after July 20,1753."

LNAB should be changed to Müller, the -in suffix is only a female ending, cf. German naming guidelines.
