Biography

Amanda Florence (Nadler) Janty, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 10 March 1983 at the Calumet Homestead Nursing Home in New Holstein where she had resided for the past three years. Mrs. Janty was born on 26 January 1896 , in Chilton, Calumet, Wisconsin, a daughter of Nicholas Nadler, 1869-1958 and Anna (Mirsberger) Nadler, 1868-1934.

She attended St. Ann Catholic School in St. Anna, Calumet, Wisconsin.

Amanda married Henry Janty on 20 May 1919 at St. Ann Catholic Church in St. Anna. They farmed in Russell, Wisconsin area until 1948 when they moved to Kiel, Wisconsin. Mr. Janty died in 1968.

Mrs. Janty was a member of St. Peter-St. Paul Catholic Church in Kiel; its Christian Mothers Society; the St. Ann Catholic Knights and the Kiel Senior Citizens.

Her survivors included: children, Delores May (Edwin) Sabel of Kiel; Germaine Hilda (Herbert) Petham, b. 1921 of Kiel; and twin, Jerome H. Janty, b. 1921 of New Holstein; sister, Ella Sophia Nadler, b. 1899; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Henry, 1892-1968; siblings, Hilda Josephine (Nadler) Buchholz, 1896-1976; Minnie (Nadler) Rach, 1903-1972; Elizabeth N. (Nadler) Daniel, 1905-1975; infant Evalina Margaret Nadler, 1908-1908; infant Ervin Nadler, 1907-1908; infant Leo Jacob Nadler, 1911-1911; and two grandchildren.

The funeral Mass was held on Saturday, 12 May 1983 at St. Peter-St. Paul Catholic Church in Kiel where the Rev. Fr. Francis Kerscher officiated.

Burial followed at the Saint Anna Catholic Cemetery, Saint Anna, Calumet, Wisconsin. The findagrave memorial ID is 53944052.
