Son of William Nagle and Alice Birtch.
1902 - Around this time, Alice Birtch Crandon ran off with a neighbour, William Henry Nagle who was married to Sarah Ernst that had 3 girls.
William Henry Nagle and Alice Birtch Crandon (married to Albert Crandon) went to Ottawa where they had two children - one in 1903 and one in 1904. William died the day after his son's second birthday. Alice then went back to St Mary's to live with her husband Albert.
William Nagle, the son of William Henry and Alice was not welcomed by Albert Crandon, who of course would see the son as a reminder of his wife's desertion and infidelity, so Alice took William at about 3 yrs of age to the orphanage Charity in Ottawa. She pinned a note on him, rang the doorbell and ran away, not to be seen. William was raised for a few years there and was sent to Quebec on a farm and then came West to Sask. In his early teen years, married Rachelle Aute’ from Prince Albert and had 7 children.
Now my father is Wm Nagle-Naigle. The Charity put the i in there by mistake and we were all raised as NAIGLE. [1]
