Research Notes
From the History of Toogong P48:
"Robert Herbert Nash, born in 1858, the eldest of Caleb's thirteen children, had come much earlier than his father and family to the Toogong district. In 1876, at the age of sixteen Robert Herbert selected a farm, Macquarie Fields, five miles south of Toogong, next door to Thomas Balcomb's block. In 1885, he married Alice Balcomb at Barragan Hall and they reared nine children at Macquarie Fields."
