The name of his father is recorded as Thomas Needham with the occupation as F.W.K. a Framework Knitter. Sarah is recorded as of full age, a spinster with no occupation. Sarahs father is recorded as Joseph Grace with the occupation of Labourer. The marriage took place in the parish church of Horsley, St Clement's. Thomas and Grace are both recorded as making their mark, rather than signing the marriage certificate.

The 1881 Census has Thomas, aged 39, married and living with his spouse and six children at, Kilburn Road, Kilburn, Derbyshire. Thomas is recorded as a Pottery Labourer.

The 1891 Census has Thomas, aged 49, married and living with his spouse and seven children at White Hart Yard, Church Street, Kilburn, Derbyshire. His occupation is Labourer at Pottery.

The 1901 Census has Thomas, aged 58, married and living with his spouse and two children, plus a visitor at Church Street, Kilbourn, Derbyshire. His occupation is Labourer at Pottery.

Children
Sarah had a son, Dennis, with an unnamed father, before her marriage to Thomas. Dennis has the surname Grace on the 1871 Census and is recorded as wifes son. On the 1881 Dennis has the surname Needham and is recorded as son.
Kilbourne/Kilbourn/Kilburn is the same small village in Derbyshire, England. The modern spelling is Kilburn and has been used for the last 100 years. [12]
