Thomas Needham was born in Derbyshire, England.

Thomas Needham is recorded as the father with the occupation of framework knitter. Thomas Needham is also the informant of the birth and his residence is also given as Horsley. Hannah Needham, formerly Whilton, is recorded as Thomas's mother. The birth was registered on the 25 Apr 1842.^[1]

On the 4 Sept 1865 marriage to Sarah Grace both in the residence of Horsley at the time of the marriage. Thomas is recorded as of full age, a bachelor and a Labourer at the time of the marriage. The name of his father is recorded as Thomas Needham with the occupation as F.W.K. a Framework Knitter. Sarah is recorded as of full age, a spinster with no occupation.
