Obituary. MR. G. E. NEEVES. The death occurred in the Moree District Hospital on Friday afternoon of Mr. George Edwin Neeves, aged 61. The late Mr. Neeves was born at Westbrook, Singleton, and went with his parents when 12 years of age to Spring Plain, in the Inverell disrict. Some few years later he came to Moree, and was employed by his uncle, the late Mr. A. Neeves, in the butchering business. Later on, he took up carpentering and was employed by Mr. J. J. Moore. On the latter leaving Moree he launched out on his own as a contract builder, and followed that occupation until the time of his death. He was a resident of Moree for over 40 years, and was well and favourably known throughout the whole of the district. He took an active interest in the welfare and progress of the town, and was an alderman for a short time when he resigned of his own accord. He was a member of the Loyal Pride of Moree Lodge, M.U.I.O.O.F., and was one of the founders of this branch. Besides a wife, three sons and two daughters survive him. The sons are Messrs. George Allen, Reginald Gordon and Oswald Roy, and the daughters Mrs. J. Cantrell and Mrs. C. Abrahamsen. The funeral took place to the Church of England portion of the cemetery on Saturday afternoon, and was largely attended. The members of his lodge marched from the cemetery gate to the graveside, the pallbearers being Bros. C. Cawthorne, E. Steepe, T. Birch. M. Blake, W. Boulton and E. Short. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Pritchard, while the Oddfellows' Burial Service was read by Bro. Birch. Messrs. Logan and Co. carried out the funeral arrangements.
