Biography

James was born in 1832. James Nelligan ... He was a Butcher by trade and lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia as referenced by the city directories in Ancestry.ca and the NS Archives in the death certificate of his son James. Also checking into a death in 1900 of a James Nelligan who died in the Poor Asylum according to the NS Archives and buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The deceased from the Poor Asylum were all cremated and buried in unmarked graves. Therefore I have no idea if this was my Great-Great Grandfather or not but further checking is required.
