Sarah was born in 1781, in Franklin, Virginia. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Parker Newbill Sr and Sarah Glenn.
On 26 Sep 1814, in Franklin, she married William Harrison Powell[1]. They settled in Franklin and had 4 known children.
William died in 1840. She then moved in with daughter Mary Catherine and her family.
In 1852, she, along with daughter Ann's family and son John's family, moved from Virginia to Sauk County, Wisconsin. When arriving in Wisconsin, she was living with daughter Ann and her family with John living a few houses away. Here she passed away in 1862 and is buried at the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
