Deborah Newcomb was born in April, 1762 in Amherst, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, daughter of Simon Newcomb (1745–1776) and Mercy Gore (1742–1833).

Deborah (21) married Nathaniel Travis (20) (born on June 20, 1763 in Westchester, New York; son of William Travis and Elizabeth Fowler) in 1784 in Amherst, Canada. Their known children were:
Deborah died on March 29, 1827 in Amherst, aged 64. She was buried in West Amherst Cemetery, West Amherst, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.[1]
