Daniel Nichols was born 1731 in Harvard, Worcester, Massachusetts, He was the son of John Nichols and Mary Priest.

Daniel married Mary Houghton 5 December 1753 in Bolton, Massachusetts at age 23. Daniel and Mary had the following children

His son Levi was administer for his estate. His wife was still living. In his will / probate records he lists his children clearly:

Becca (Rebekah) Bowers, Phebe Hale, Levi Nichols, Keziah Hancock, Abel Nichols, Ephraim Nichols, Lois Nichols, Sare (Sarah) Nichols. Note Micah had already died in the war.

Consenting to his probate records also are Thomas Hancock (husband of Keziah Nichols), Molly Nichols (his widow) and Samuel Bowers (husband of Rebekah Nichols).

John Simonds is appointed as guardian to his minor children. There were two John Simonds in the town: 1739-1823 and ? - 1814. I'm not sure which it was. Also the Boutelle family were involved in the estate. They were Levi's in-laws.

Research notes

Some trees show that Daniels first wife was born in 1715 and that she was previously married to a Sawyer. Given the age difference this is probably not the correct Mary Houghton. There was a Mary Houghton born about the right time at Harvard who was the daughter of Stephen and Abigail Houghton who could be considered.
