Thomas was born about 1730. He was the son of Alexander Nickels. He passed away before 1758.
He was not named in his father's will. According to Cushman "as a young man, killed by the Indians and scalped, at the edge of an evening, as he was filling his pail with water at the spring, not far from the homestead. The Garrison was near. Bushes were in the neighborhood of the spring and the Indians waylaid him."[1]
