Biography

Jenet "Jane" maybe Nisbet, daughter of ?? (see research Notes below) was probably born about 1768 in Ireland. Jennett probably died on 23 Nov. 1843 at Chester County, South Carolina. She was alive when Hugh wrote his will on 3 March 1821.[1]

She married Hugh Knox, son of John and Elizabeth (Gaston) Knox, in 1790.

Research Notes

She was claimed to be daughter of Agnes (Taylor) Nisbet I have unconnected the relationship as it is very questionable.

NOTE: fathers name James but was called John in bio!!!!

It is not certain who the parents of Jane are, and there is currently no source cited giving her maiden name as Nisbit. Additionally she is not named in the will of James Nisbet. However, it is possible she is his daughter as married daughters were not always mentioned and Jane's daughter, Lucretia is buried in the same small grave yard as James and Nancy Nisbet. More research is needed.
