Biography
Robert was born on 16/07/1931 in Ratho. [1]
He is the son of John Jeffrey Nisbet (1903-1955)(Tractor Driver), and Isabella (Rodgers) Nisbet.
Robert married Elizabeth (Copeland) Nisbet in 1953 at Anwoth Church, Gatehouse of Fleet, Daughter of John Copeland (Tractor Man) and Mary Agnes Lindsay) [2].
Children
- Robert adopted Doreen (Copeland) Nisbet aged four, daughter of Elizabeth Copeland, whereupon she changed her name to Doreen Nisbet.

Military Career
Robert joined the Royal Air Force (Acting Corporal 4036205) on 21/03/1949 and took up the trade of a RAF Police dog-handler Following training at RAF Stations Pershore and Staverton, in February 1950, he was posted to the Far East Air Force, No 4 Police Wing in Malaya. He served two spells at Changi and Kuala Lumpar before returning to the UK and RAF Netheravon in September 1952. He completed his RAF service on 04/12/1952 and was awarded the General Service Medal (Malaya). [3]
Robert's death (age 50) was registered in 1981 in the Newton Stewart Area district.[4]
