Sam married 1st Naomi Elizabeth Young on 10/14/1888 and had William Porter, Oscar Allen, an infant daughter, Charlotte Naomi, Ola Effie, and Birdie Samantha. After his 1st wife's death, he married Nancy Melvina Willingham on 10/7/1901 in Bryan, Brazos Co, TX. They had 1 daughter, Mary Magdalene. Unfortunately, Sam died before he could see his daughter.

Caldwell News-Chronicle. (Caldwell, Tex.), Vol. 22, No. 42, Ed. 1 Friday, March 14, 1902: "SAM NORCROSS, a prominent farmer of Cookes Point neighborhood died of pneumonia last Tuesday. Mr. Norcross was a provident man and leaves a wife and four children very well provided for. He was about 35 yrs old."
