Biography

Micajah was born 26 Mar 1771. Micajah Nordyke accompanied his parents [Abraham and Mary] on the their journey through Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee, where he married Charity Ellis. In 1806 he and his wife and children went to Clinton County, Ohio, where they were among the first settlers of that area. He soon purchased 300 acres of land of the Buford Survey, lying north of New Vienna, embracing a portion of the ground upon which the town is not built. This land was all woods and the log cabin life and early scenes of the pioneer life of Micajah are related in the history of Greene Township, Clinton County, Ohio.

Mycajah, son of Abraham & Mary, Jefferson Co., Tenn., married Charity Ellis, at Lost Creek Mtg.1798, 4, 4.

Micajah died in Clinton County, Ohio at the age of 86.

There is a story in the History of Clinton County, Ohio that says Micajah's house was attacked by indians when he was a boy and his father hid with him in the woods overnight to escape the attack.
