Biography

John O'Callaghan was born on 3 May 1829.^[1] He was the eldest son of George O'Callaghan of Maryfort, County Clare, and Mary Westropp.^[1][2]

He was of Cheltenham College, Gloucestershire. John O'Callaghan was a Captain in the 62nd Regiment, a Colonel in the Clare Militia, and a JP and DL for County Clare.^[1][2]

On 24 March 1859 at Adare, County Limerick, he married Mary Johnson Westropp.^[1][2][3]

John and Mary had a son:

1. George O'Callaghan later O'Callaghan-Westropp m Henrietta Cecile Rosa Godbold

In 1901, they lived at Maryfort.^[4]

In 1911, they lived in Tulla.^[5]

He died in 1912.^[6]
