Samuel was a preacher for at least a while. He was known by Nora Kelly, in Love, MS. She believed he was the Methodist preacher, and had a church at what is now the intersection of Slocum Rd., and McCracken Rd. in Hernando, MS. Or maybe that is where their home was?
Mrs. Kelly remembered playing with Doc's(Joel) and (William) Arnold's younger siblings.

However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
