Obituary

Samuel Tyrus Odom I, age 46, of Spruce Pine, Ala., died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He lived all his life in Franklin County and was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Spruce Pine. He loved spending time with his family and grandson, riding motorcycles, traveling, Bama football and going to the lake.He was employed by Tiffin Motor Homes.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, with Brother Roger Martin and Brother Brian Scott officiating.Burial will follow in Spruce Pine Cemetery. Visitation will be before the service from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include wife, Mae Michelle Odom, Spruce Pine; children, Samuel Tyrus Odom II and wife, Tiffany, Phil Campbell, Chasity Nicole Odom, Corey Heath Odom; father, L.C. Odom and wife, Cora, all of Spruce Pine; grandson, Slade Odom, Phil Campbell; sisters, Freida McKay, Jane Wingo, both of Spruce Pine, Kathy Odom Hawkins, Vidor, Texas; brother, James Neal Odom, Russellville; Denay Hagood, just like a daughter-in-law; many great and wonderful friends; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Trent Fugate, Donnie Fugate, Troy Mather, Bob Shook, Tommy Rogers and John Carter.

He was preceded in death by mother, Lucile Odom; sister, Margaret Leigh Odom Shook; brothers, Leon Charles Odom Jr. and Billy Levern Odom.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, will be directing
