Grandpa was a Pentalcostal minster the last church he and grandma had was in Conway Texas He also helped build two banks and remodel a hospital in Amarillo. Grandpa had a since of humor...I remember everytime I would drink from a glass he would tell me I needed to move my nose out of the way, so that it wouldn't go in and he would show me how to do it. All us grand kids had fun with him, he always enjoyed playing with us and he would take us to the pool that was just down the street from their house. When Grandpa got started in the minstry he and Grandma were home missionaries in Edna Kansas

I was real close to grandpa and grandma, my brother Dean and I stayed with them a lot cause of all the fighting that was going on between mama and daddy, they made that time in our lives (or at least in my live) a lot easier and happy. Grandpa loved to play with us grand kids, he would give us horse back rides, take us to the little pool that was at the park just down the street from their house he even made home made ice cream from an old wooden hand crank ice cream maker.
Having your grandfather as a minister is a unique experience and a special one, but when your grandfather is a Pentecostal minister it goes beyond that. My grandfather had such a very deep belief in his faith as did grandma, it was real and pure. (I didn't understand this as a child).... but now that I am older I do. As a child at my grandparents I remember I had to wear dress's, could not cut my hair short and could not wear make up as a teen. (that's all changed now of course). I also remember Grandpa had these little card's with bible verses on them and about once month and on special occasions everyone at their house had to take one and read it out loud and say what that verse meant to them and then we would pray. I have so so many more wonderful memories of my grandpa..... Love and miss you so much Grandpa
