The name Millbrook appears to have been given to the place during the ownership of John Alleyne Walter who married Jane Oliphant daughter of Dr. David Oliphant Surgeon General of the Southern Department on the Continental establishment in the Revolutionary War.[1]
Last Thursday Mr. John Walter, son of the late Col. William Walter, was married to the agreeable and accomplished Miss Jenny Oliphant, only daughter of David Oliphant, Esq. (Monday, February 14, 1774.)[2][3][4]
