He was christened on 26 April 1829 at Warleggon, Cornwall, England[1].

England and Wales Census, 1851: Living with his parents, eight siblings and grandmother Mary Olliver in Ley Village, St Neot Cornwall, Cornwall, England. Aged 22 and single.

Occupation: Carpenter

In the census records of 1891, 1901 and 1911 he was recorded in the household of his sister and brother-in-law; John and Elizabeth Henwood.
