Biography
Though this ancestral family line is historically Olmstead (with the "a") some of Ira's siblings may have used the name without the "a," i.e. Olmsted. As such, records exist for specific individuals with either or both spellings.
Ira Olmstead was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut the son of Ebenezer and Esther (Ingersoll) Olmstead.
He died in 1842 at the age of 43 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. [1]
Research Notes
The 1912 Olmsted genealogy stated he "died in Liverpool" -- the assumption is that this is Liverpool, England though there is a Liverpool in the State of New York just north of Syracuse and he had cousins that settled in the Syracuse area.
In the "GRO" death source his name is given as Iva.
