Mary Ann Onton was born on 17 August 1858 in Ararat to Thomas Onton and Bridget Fogarty.[1] The family later used the surname Cook.
Mary Cook married Ah Hoon on 26 February 1875 in Avoca, Victoria.[2] The family later went by the surname Wyhoon and her husband was known as William Wyhoon (1844–1923).

Mary Wyhoon died on 31 January 1935 in Avoca, Victoria.[3] She was buried in Avoca cemetery Sect 9 Sub 18 No 243 and has a gravestone.[4]
