Biography

Joseph Page was born about 1700 in Groton, Massachusetts. ^{[citation needed]}

Joseph, a brother of Lieut. Nathaniel and probably his senior, was employed as chain man when the town of Lunenburg, Massachusetts was first surveyed. ^[1] For his 9 and a half days of work as chain man in Lunenburg he was paid 1 pound 18 shillings. He was also fence viewer and hog reeve. ^[2]

Joseph became proprietor of land in Lunenburg, Massachusetts which was purchased for him by his father. ^[1]

On Dec 1730 he married Deborah Gould of Topsfield. ^[3][4] She was born in Topsfield, Massachusetts Sept 23, 1707 and was sister of his brother Nathaniel's wife. ^[1]

He removed to Rindge, New Hampshire in 1767. ^[1]

Their ten children were born in Lunenburg, Massachusetts. Child 1, 3 and 4 died young. [Not listed in town history]. ^[1]
