Biography

Church of Ireland Clergy

John was born in 1791. He was the son of John Palliser and Grace Barton.

He was educated by Rev mr Sandys and entered Trinity College Dublin on 30 June 1808, aged 17. B.A. 1812, M.A. 1832. [1]

Rector of Clonmel,

John married Julia Phillida Howe, daughter of Capt. John Howe on 10 March 1830.

The Rev. J. B. Palliser, brother-in-law to Lord Viscount Gort, to Julia, daughter of the late John Howe, Esq. of Bath.

Children

  1. Wray Bury, b. 9 March 1831, married Maria Victoria Josephine Gubbins, youngest daughter of Joseph Gubbins, of Kilfrush, co. Limerick in March 1861.
  2. John Richard, b. 28 March 1835, Lieut, 1st Royal Regt, served in the China War 1860, including taking of Taku Forts (medal and clasp), died at Tientsin 29 August 1860.

He died in 1864.
