George was the son of African-Americans Stephen and Mary (Brister) Palmer. His father, a Mariner, was born in Boston in 1838, and his mother at Yarmouth the same year. George was born on Deer Island, Boston Harbor, and died there of Scrofula, a form of Tuberculosis. Find a Grave bio #194228856.
