Biography

Elsie was born about 1789. She was the daughter of Abel Parker (abt.1745-1834) and Hannah Elizabeth (Gardner) Parker (1747-1835).

Elsey married John D. Ostrander (1789-1851) on 7 July 1811 in Pownal, Vermont, United States.^[1] Elsey and John had several children and lived in Pownal, Vermont until around 1850.

In the 1850 census Elsie (age 55) was in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States. Elsie and john were living with their son, Sidney D. Ostrander (abt.1817-1864).^[2] John died in Boston in October of 1850.

In the 1855 census Elsey (age 66) was in Williamstown, Berkshire, Massachusetts. She was living with her daughter, Sarah, and family.^[3]

In the 1860 census Else (age 71) was in Morris City 1st Ward, Grundy, Illinois. She was living with her daughter, Sarah Hall, and Sarah's daughter Augusta "Sarah" Hall Stevens.^[4]

She passed away after 1860, most likely in Illinois.
