Biography

Annie (Parkes) McKoy was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Ann "Annie" Parks was born in 1812 and baptised at St Phillip's Church of England, Sydney. She was the daughter of John Parkes and Margaret Southern.[1]

Known as Anne Sparks, she married Alexander McKay / MacKay on 28 September 1829 at St Andrews Scots Church, George Street, Sydney, when he was 25 and she was 17. This was only days after Alexander received his Certificate of Freedom. [2][3].

She passed away in 1865 at Sydney, New South Wales.

Anne was mentioned on a memorial in St. Peters Cooks River Cemetery, Saint Peters, Inner West Council, New South Wales, Australia with a death date of 16 November 1865.[4]
