Biography

Louisa was born in 1853. She was the daughter of Robert Parmley and Mary Hurt. She passed away in 1942.

Robert Parmley (age 70 and b. in NC) was head of a household in the 1860 census for Wayne Co., KY. He was living with Mary Parmley (age 45 and b. in KY), Aladin Parmley (age 16 and b. in KY), Ashley Parmley (age 14 and b. in KY), Thomas M. Parmley (age 12 and b. in KY), Viana Parmley (age 10 and b. in KY), Louisa E. Parmley (age 6 and b. in KY), and Henry Clay Parmley (age 3 and b. in KY). Robert was a farmer.

Kellogg Woman, 88, Dies After Stroke

KELLOGG, IA - Funeral services for Mrs. Louisa E. Powers, 88, will be Tuesday 2 p. m. at the Christian church here. Mrs. Powers died of a stroke Sunday at the home of her son J. R. (Bert) Powers here, with whom she lived. She was a resident of this community 70 years and the widow of Sam Powers, formerly an extensive Jasper county land owner.
