Nela Mae Parrish was born on March 3, 1903 in Spencer, Indiana, United States, daughter of William Turner Parrish (~1871–~1953) and Effie Esther Hill (1876–1946).
Nela (16) married Ralph Vorce Bixler (22) (born on September 30, 1896 in Fort Wayne, Indiana; son of Thomas Isaac Bixler and Cora (Bufford) Bixler) on September 29, 1919 in Indiana. Their children were:
