There was no Roane, VA in 1827 as this county didn't exist until 1856 when it was created from Gilmer, Jackson and Kanawha counties, VA. Roane county was included in WV when this State was created in 1863. As originally posted, Adam Hyder Parsons was born in that part of Lewis County, VA which became Gilmer county, VA in 1845 and Gilmer county, WV in 1863 where his parents were residing at the time of his birth, moving sometime during 1830-1840 to that part of Jackson county which was later included in Roane county.
