Jane Avaline Parton married Lewis Miller about 1849 and in 1850 they had their first child and were living in Buncombe County, North Carolina.[1]
Jane and Lewis lived in the 37th Division of Haywood, North Carolina in 1860 and 1870. [2][3] In 1880 they lived in Ivy Hill, Haywood, North Carolina and Lewis' occupation was "Farmer".[4] By the 1900 Census she was widowed and was living with her daughter Elizabeth's family and her son Marion in Leicester Township of Buncombe, North Carolina. She had 7 of 14 children living at that time.[5]
