Biography
Robert was born in Monroe, Tennessee in 1879.[1][2] He married Mary Alice "Alice" Ervin 14 Nov 1909 in Monroe, Tennessee.[3]. They had a son named Joseph Hoyt Payne in 1910,[4] but he does not appear in the 1920 census with his two brothers, William (b. ca. 1905) and Robert Jr. (b. ca. 1907), and other children later.[5][6][7] Bob died in 1950.[8][9]
