Mabel Payne was born in 1883 in Osborn, Rock Island, Illinois. She was the daughter of William Payne and Jennie Wilson.[1][2][3] She married James Davies Lightbody, a Olympic gold medalist in track, on November 8, 1913 in Rock Island County, Illinois.[4]
