John Henry Peake F.I.M.A. held the position of Shire Clerk of the Council of the Shire of Ayr from 1933 - 1960. In 1951 he compiled "A History of the Burdekin" to commemorate the state's 50th Jubilee celebrations.
Biography
John Henry Peake was born in the Colony of Victoria in 1888. He was the son of Charles Alfred Peake and Susannah Spalding.[1]
John Henry Peake married Gladys Mary Turner in Queensland, Australia in 1917.[2]
John and Gladys had Alfred George born 1918.
- Gladys Mary Peake died 19 May 1977 in Qld. Daughter of George and Alice Staniland, b qld 22 June 1895.
John Henry Peake, known as Hy, passed away in Ayr, Queensland, Australia on the 25th of October 1961 and was laid to rest in the Ayr Cemetery, Gr No 3528.[3]
