Biography

William Henry Pearce/Pierce was born in Current, Eleuthera, Bahamas in 1866 to Hezekiah Pearce and Euphemia Jane Hall Pearce.

He married Emma Victoria Carey and they had a daughter Alice Louise Pierce - born in Key West about 1894-1895. Emma Victoria Pierce died in Key West, Florida, sometime before 1900.

William Pearce married, second, Susan Somers, about 1900-1901. The couple had children Gladys, Somers, and Joseph Pierce.

William H Pierce was a lighthouse keeper - in fact, he was head keeper at the Sombrero Key Lighthouse, near Key Vaca, from 1919 to at least 1933.
